so you want details, do you?

i'm pretty sure you don't want ALL the details, but let me see if i can give you what you DO want to know:
pregnant? yes.
crazy? most likely.
planned? not exactly, but we're excited.
how far along? 8.5 weeks (you know i even count .5 weeks at this point... just anxious to get through 1st trimester!!)
due date? march 21st.
how old will owey be? 18 months almost to the day.
crazy? definitely.
sick? not like i was with owey, but generally want to puke all day and have to eat all day even though nothing sounds good. you know how it goes.
cravings? ummm... ice cream (not that that is anything new) and gold medals. and sleep.
predictions? though we would love owey to have a lil bro, i feel like it's a girl - just a totally different pregnancy and i am way ugly - you know what they say about boys give beauty, girls take away...

i think that's all. did i miss anything?
you still think i'm crazy, don't you? yeah... me too.

you're not crazy. it's actually not so bad to have babies close together. joel and kadin are 15 months apart and although the first year was challenging, it wasn't nearly as hard as i anticipated. and now that they are older, my life is a cinch. they play together pretty well and keep each other busy ALL day. it's great. hope you feel better soon. :) that's no fun.

Jess, I want to sing and cry for you all at the same time. Sing, because babies are wonderful, cute, snuggly and precious. Cry, because babies are hard, cause sleep-deprivation and cry a lot:) But I am clearly biased b/c right now I have a six-month old and the newborn stage is still FRESH in my mind! I'd take a million babies if they came at 6-months old: cute and giggly, sleeping through the night, not nursing every five minutes, and perfectly capable of entertaining themselves, as mine is right at this moment whilst I'm writing this email. I DO know that if anyone can do it, you can! And what fun to have your kids so close; they'll be great friends. And if this baby is even as half as cute as little Owey, they'll be BEAUTIFUL! Congrats and lots of luck and know that I love ya! Sorry for the marathon comment....

I am over-the-moon excited for you and secretly hoping I'll get to take some maternity or new baby photos of you and the little one.

I am biased in the other direction because although I know pregnancy stinks and sleep deprivation is ugly, my arms simply ache for a sweet soft newborn again.

Jess, I'm so happy for you! They will be such great friends being so close! The first few years might be crazy, but after that hopefully they will play wonderfully! You've been saying you're having to LOOK for things to do to keep occupied in Rexburg--this will definitely do the trick! Congrats and good luck!!!

I was just thinking to myself that I could handle another baby right now, with Andrew being 18 months old. I would either do it 18 month apart or 2 1/2 years apart. For some reason 2 years old was just a hard age and the other ages seem just right. So, I think you are going to be just fine :) 2 babies is tough, but SO fun. You are going to love it. I LOVE watching Avery be the big sister. She adores her brother and takes such good care of him. Sorry about the morning sickness. That is what is keeping me from getting pregnant. I HATE it, the bad puking memories just won't fade. Hope you feel beetter soon!! Love Ya!

Congrats Jess! This is fabulous news, especially for someone unsure of fertility issues. Nate and Jocy are almost 20 months apart. The first year was tricky but after that it was fabulous- they always had a friend to play with. You'll do great. I'm delighted for you!
